Thank you so much for checking out Unification Place, LLC…my baby, my dream!
I want you to know where I started and how my dream began so many years ago after obtaining my Masters degree in mental health counseling in 1997. I began my work with families and young children in the foster care system soon after our son was born. Starting in the foster care system and transitioning into addictions counseling, my job was to support parents in their growth and to help them create a safe emotional environment for their children to flourish. It was during this time that I realized my heart wanted to start from the beginning…before children were removed from the home…before parents felt their only way to cope was by medicating their emotions. This led me to early childhood mental health consultation (ECMHC). From 1999 through 2011 I provided natural environment (in-home & on-site) consulting and counseling to parents and caregivers who struggled to manage their responses when triggered by difficult behaviors or circumstances. During that time I achieved my Conscious Discipline® Certification, offering families and caregivers the chance to participate in active learning through training, book-study, and on-site consultation using a system I believe in. All of this led me to becoming the Executive Director of KAIMH from 2011-2013 where I had the opportunity to speak up for the most fragile population – our young children & their families. Those two years provided me much needed insight into how our state and local systems function, as well as reignited my energy to continue direct service work.
Whether we meet in your home, coach in your early childhood setting, or train on-site I assure you – it is never too late to start your journey to healthy relationships! firstname.lastname@example.org
